Chase Hochstatter and his company Watch Your Head Productions wins again for second year in row NFIB / YEF award.

Another successful run for Chase Hochstatter and Watch Your Head productions winning top NFIB / YEF honors in Texas and the only Austin-based winner. 

Watch Your Head Productions is an Austin-areas film and video production company started by two brothers - Austin and Chase Hochstatter - while in their teens. 

Chase is now a senior at Westwood High School and in addition to his film company he has also launched a Visual and Digital Effects and Graphics company to suppliment Watch Your Head and allow him to pursue his specific areas of film production and animation.

Chase has had offers to attend Ringling University in Sarasota Florida, the School of Visual Arts in New York City and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Georgia.  He has elected to join his older brother Austin at SCAD in the Fall, 2011.  He is planning to study Visual Effects and Digital Animation.

Chase Hochstatter, 17 year-old co-founder of Watch Your Head Productions, has launched a new business to expand into Visual Effects, Digital Animation and Sound Design.

After two successful years creating leading video productions for Austin area small businesses, Watch Your Head Productions' co-founder expands into Visual Effects to attract entirely new clientele - aspiring youtube producers.

Thousands of new users on youtube are uploading their original video content but most lack the skills or the necessary tools to polish their youtube channels into professional quality efforts.  That is where Chase Hochstatter and his visual effects skills are required.

"I love to create new logos, digital introductions and visual effects for such a wide youtube audience", says Chase, "I get a chance to use a bunch of different tools like Photoshop, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Avid, and Final Cut, screen capture tools along with a bunch of music editing tools."

He adds, "With my brother and partner, Austin, now in Film school at Savannah College of Art and Design, our traditional workload had to slow; so, I launched this busines to keep my skills sharp and generate incremental revenues.  Besides, it's super fun and I meet tons of new people."

Chase has created a channel for his work on youtube.com you can find it here.  He has created more than 100 individual youtube channel introductions, youtube channel backgrounds, logos along with a new genre of art called Speed Art.

Speed Art is the concept of recording your every move while creating your original digital art work.  It serves two purposes.  The first is to prove to your audience that you in fact created the work since it is easy to copy others' work.

Second, Speed Art allows you to actually choreograph your production using special effects and music.  Making the production of your visual effects and digital art into an artform itself is just the latest experimentation-turned mainstream for this younger youtube generation.

November 2010

Austin is home from his first college term and we are thrilled to report he made the Dean's List with his straight A performance!  Austin is attending Film School at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA.

Congratulations Austin.  Now back to work on our Holiday break Film and Video projects.  We've got a television commercial lined up along with a charity event to film.

 (Look out:  Chase has narrowed his college list to 3 Film schools and we should hear about his choice after the first of the year.)

Watch Your Head is proud of its co-founder and Vice President, Austin Hochstatter who was a Top Five finalist for the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) Young Entrepreneurs Foundation scholarship.

This nationwide honor was announced Thursday, June 24th at the NFIB National Headquarters at their annual winners luncheon.  Each of the five finalists were awarded $5,000 and the top winner Shayna Turk took home an additional $5,000 award.

We are thrilled to have our own win this award from among more than 4,300 applicants.  This signifies that Watch Your Head has set itself apart not only as a youth-owned business but as a professional film and video production company in Central Texas.

Chase Hochstatter, Vice President and co-founder of Watch Your Head Productions has been accepted to participate in a series of exclusive immersion courses in 3D Animation and Visual Effects at the acclaimed Vancouver Film School in Vancouver, British Columbia.

After submitting his portfolio of animation work to the school last Fall, Chase has been selected among a small group of creative high school students to attend VFS for free to expand on their burgeoning Digital Animation and 3D Effects skills.

Austin Hochstatter, 18-year-old co-founder and Vice President of Production, is selected out of more than 80 applicants to vie for Texas Christian University’s Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

AUSTIN, Texas – December 15, 2009 – As one Central Texas’ newest film and video production firms, Watch Your Head Productions charges into the limelight with its co-founder’s  selection to the TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award scholarship competition.  Winners will be announced in February 2010.

Despite the worst economic downturn in recent memory, Watch Your Head Productions launched in mid-2009 intent on serving two core opportunities:  1) provide economically viable alternatives to expensive film production services - serving individuals and small businesses, and 2) pursue a deep passion for filmmaking and storytelling.  Even in falling markets, businesses must continue to reach their customers in a rich and engaging way.  Watch Your Head secured its first small business client inside of one month of launching.
